The city of Durham is on the River Wear in the North East of England. Durham is a historical city, with a Norman castle and a cathedral dating back to 1093AD, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The cathedral is the final resting place of the 11th-century saint, Cuthbert. It is also where the remains of the Venerable Bede lie in repose.
